Released on September 11th 2001, the singles from Satellite "Alive" and
"Youth Of A Nation" took on new meaning as music listeners searched for some
positivity in the wake of the tragedy that occurred on that day. Since then,
Satellite has gone double platinum in the U.S. and has reached Gold status in
several countries across the globe.
According to lead singer Sonny, the roots found on the Platinum-plated
FUNDAMENTAL ELEMENTS OF SOUTHTOWN are still in place, but
SATELLITE brings a broader spectrum of sound. "We're always going to
have a heavy edge," Sonny says, "but I don't think this is necessarily heavy
music. We're mixing a little bit more melody, a little bit more harmony into
the songs." The first single to spin off SATELLITE is the anthemic and
aptly titled 'Alive,' an intense guitar-driven track with Sonny manning the
chorus. Atlanticrecords.com
